Getting Notarized

Posted by on Jan 7, 2008 in Notary | 3 comments

Getting something notarized is simple. Documents are signed by you in the presence of a Notary Public. A Notary Public is basically a public witness.

  1. Gather your documents.
  2. Make appointment with notary by phone, text, or email: 773-398-8417       notarypublicinchicago@gmail.com
  3. Notary will quote time and cost.
  4. Meet your notary where you choose, when you choose.
  5. Sign the Official Journal of Notarial Acts provided by your Notary while payment is processed.
  6. Identify yourself with government issued photo identification such as Drivers License and Passport.  If your identity involves a Same Name Affidavit, you will be required to show two or more proofs of identity.  This can also be in the form of a credible identifying witness.  In this case, all parties will be required to also sign Oath and/or Acknowledgement as required by the situation.  These cases are uncommon.
  7. Sign the documents in front of the Notary Public.
  8. Notary will Sign and Seal the documents.
  9. You will now be happily on your way.
